There isn't many ways better to blow out the cobwebs that a nice run ... and there can't be many places better to run than in the Lakes.
Bays Brown
Starting from the Langdale Estate, this route entails a gentle loop around the surrounding areas of the Estate. Take it easy and simply enjoy the beautiful Lake District scenery.
Distance: 4 miles
Difficulty: Easy
Derwent Water
Keeping Derwentwater always on your right side this is a great way to check out some of the best of the Northern Lakes. If you have the time and energy, a detour to Ashness Bridge and Surprise View is well worth the climb. On the return, Lingholm is a great cake and gardens stop too.

Difficulty: Moderate
Little Langdale & Slaters Bridge
Picture-perfect from every direction, this route is the ideal combination of breathtaking views and well, breathtaking exercise. Including hills, rough tracks and woodland, it’s not one for the faint-hearted but it is sure worth it.
Distance: 6.2 miles
Difficulty: Hard
Langdale Full & Half Marathon
The marathon and half marathon take place in September each year and while the distance is standard the hills are not. Leaving Langdale the route meanders to the end of the valley and up Blea tarn Hill. There is relatively little flat running after that with two steep climbs.
Distance: 26 / 13 miles
Difficulty: Hard
