The Old Laundry Theatre

Water Sports on Windermere
With the lake shore on its doorstep, Bowness is the perfect place to try out some water sports. From canoes, to kayaks, waterskiing and paddleboarding, all can be done on Windermere Lake. You can hire canoes and kayaks from Ferry Nab in Bowness, or travel slightly further down the lake to Low Wood Bay Water Sports Centre who provide a range of water based activities to get stuck into!
Walk up Orrest Head
A beautiful viewpoint overlooking Windermere Lake, the view at the end is well worth the climb. Taking around 3 hours, covering 3.5 miles with incline, the walk is suitable for most. Take in the panoramic views featuring Scafell Pike, Old Man of Coniston and the Langdale Pikes. Plus, once you make it to the top, you can read all about the fell from the information plaque dedicated in memory of Alfred Wainwright.
