- Trades & Craftsmen
The Lake District, is not just home to breathtaking fells and picturesque scenery, but a thriving hub for ethical, sustainable and natural produce. Proud of our heritage, we aim to source locally wherever we can, utilising the range of valuable and extraordinary natural supplies from the World Heritage Site.
Sourcing locally does not only allow us to support local business and the community, but it allows us to be more sustainable by reducing travel to and from suppliers which may be further afield.
Our Food
Famous for its delicious Cumberland sausages, mouthwatering Grasmere gingerbread, and of course, the notorious Sticky Toffee Pudding, the Lake District holds home to a range of local delicacies. With fresh, wholesome, quality produce grown on our doorstep, we don’t need to look much further.
Although sourcing locally is a core value of ours, compromising on quality is not. When selecting our suppliers, by no means is quality jeopardised. Our team works hard to ensure the best produce is chosen to provide our customers with an unforgettable dining experience.
Beverages
Whether our customers are sipping on one of our signature cocktails, or quenching their thirst on a cold soft drink, the wide choice of beverages across our estate include a range of locally sourced products.
From weird and wonderful liqueur concoctions, to malty amber ales, and fruity juices, the Lake District provides an array of liquid delight.

Resources
It’s not always the things you see that make the most impact. Behind the scenes, we make sure that even the foundations of our business are constructed from our home.
Trade & Craftsmen
You might already know that our Estate is pretty big, and with all 35 acres of it needing tended to on a regular basis, it’s a big job. Not only is the presentation of the Estate important, but regular improvements are continuously being made to create new experiences for our guests, staff, and owners.
But we can’t do this on our own. That’s why we trust our local trade and craftsmen to come on board and give us a helping hand. Decorators, carpenters, plumbers, electricians… you name it, they help us do what we do!
Wood Chippings
A big contributor to our energy source on site, our wood chippings are sourced from fallen trees in the local area, which we chip ourselves only metres from our Estate. These chippings are then used to fuel our two biomass boilers, situated on our Estate. A more sustainable energy producer than gas, biomass enables us to generate energy for a considerable amount of our business through a carbon neutral approach.
