People
The people who live and work at Langdale are what makes the business what it is and we like to look after and invest in the people.
Transportation
- Free Bus Travel
Due to our rural location, we understand that it can be challenging for staff to get to us. With limited public transport links, we are committed to offering staff an alternative option.
Providing free transportation to and from work for selected locations, we offer staff the opportunity of structured and reliable transport during their time working with us.
- Cycle Purchase Scheme
Keen to encourage exercise and an environmentally way of travel, we offer all staff the opportunity to purchase a bicycle. Langdale offers employees a loan in which they can buy a bike with which the value is then simply reduced from their wages at the end of the month. Available to all employees, the Cycle Purchase Scheme offers a way that staff can purchase a bike, interest free.
- Secure Bicycle Lockers
Safe and secure, Langdale provide lockers in which staff can store their bikes whilst on site. Not only does this ensure the safety of their property, but also keeps the bike protected from the weather so that it does not tarnish.
The Langdale Way
- No zero hour contracts unless specifically requested
Here at Langdale, we don’t believe in zero hour contracts. We offer all our staff a set contract so that they will never be short of work. We encourage flexible working, whether that may be part time or full time, we want your job to work around you, not the other way.
- Right 2 Work
Community Interest Company, Right 2 Work, is a growing local organisation., focusing on helping young people with learning disabilities find employment and training opportunities.
We work closely with Right 2 Work, offering opportunities at Langdale where possible. Previously, we have taken on individuals from the Right 2 Work programme, who have then become full time employees at Langdale. With a range of roles across different departments, there is a job to suit all.
- In house training to support the employment of low skilled workers
Giving employees the opportunity to build on their skills is an activity we encourage at Langdale. We want all employees to gain the most from their time at Langdale, whether that be a few months or 30 years. Therefore, we offer in house training to all employees, giving them the opportunity to build on their current skills and abilities, along with providing the best service to our guests.
- Childcare Voucher Scheme
Offering the Childcare Voucher Scheme to all employees that are parents, Langdale understands how having a baby can take an effect on your financial situation. The scheme allows working parents to swap part of their pre-tax salary to pay for childcare of their choice, which in turn, make savings on their tax and national insurance.
- Support for training in all departments even where not related to job to PHD level
At Langdale, we encourage learning in all elements of life, whether that be something that relates to your role here or not. We provide the opportunity for our employees to take on learning experiences which may not correlate to their position, up to PHD level.
