We're a small (but mighty) team who are passionate about health, fitness and wellbeing. We like to keep up-to-date with the latest fitness news and techniques, with this knowledge we will help you achieve the goals that you're aiming for. Membership - Terms & Conditions
General
- Admittance is only permitted during advertised opening hours at valid times of membership and always at the discretion of Fitness and Leisure staff
- Each member must present proof of membership on each visit to Fitness and Leisure facilities before proceeding into the facilities. Any member attending without a valid card will be asked for proof of identification.
- Guests of the Langdale Estate must provide name and details of accommodation on each visit in order to access the facilities.
- Last entry to Fitness and Leisure facilities is 45 minutes before closing
- Members and guests are respectfully requested to leave the gymnasium and pool area 15 minutes before the Fitness and Leisure facilities are due to close and to leave the premises punctually at times of closing
- Members may not bring pets (other than guide dogs) onto the premises
- No unauthorised parking is permitted on the premises
- Photography is permitted within the facilities provided that certain details are made available to Fitness and Leisure staff
Behaviour and Dress
- Members should conduct themselves in a quiet and well-mannered fashion that will not disturb the enjoyment of other users.
- Members and Fitness and Leisure staff should always display mutual respect to one another
- Within the facilities, members should wear suitable swim and gym attire for a public family environment
- Please make sure personal body odour is controlled
- Smoking and alcohol are not permitted in any area of the Fitness and Leisure facilities
- Any complaints should be communicated privately to the management team, or in writing to the manager
Swimming Pool
- Members must always shower before entering the pool, spa, sanarium, steam room and in between use of each facility
- Food, drink or any kind of glassware are not permitted in the changing rooms or pool area
- Shaving is not permitted in the sanarium, steam room or spa pool
- Clothing may not be dried in the sanarium
- Overshoes must be worn over footwear when on poolside
- No diving, jumping, running in or around poolside
- Inflatables, balls, snorkels or fins, are not permitted, buoyancy aids for non or weak swimmers are allowed.
- The maximum amount of time spent in the thermal experiences is 10-12 minutes
- The swimming pool area may be reserved from time to time for swimming lessons, parties, training or maintenance, prior notice will be given at the Fitness and Leisure reception
- Poolside capacity is 60 persons, Fitness and Leisure staff may restrict access at busy times
- Langdale reserve the right to limit the members to 20 minutes in the pool if busy
- Members may not bring their own swimming instructors
- No wheelchairs or pushchairs or car seats permitted on poolside
- Fitness and Leisure staff reserve the right to close the pool or any thermal experience at any time for reasons of hygiene, safety or maintenance
- Use of the Fitness and Leisure facilities is not recommended for those who have recently consumed alcohol or eaten
- Members with heart conditions, high blood pressure asthma or whom are pregnant are advised not to use thermal experiences. Those with other medical conditions may wish to consult Fitness and Leisure staff prior to use.
Workout Areas
- Children under 15 years old are not permitted into the workout areas
- All members must have filled in an exercise readiness questionnaire before entering the workout areas
- Appropriate clean exercise clothing and shoes must be worn whilst exercising
- Personal hygiene is paramount
- Members are asked to wipe down all equipment immediately after use, using cleaning materials provided
- At busy times we restrict usage to 20 minutes on each cardiovascular machine
- Fitness and Leisure staff reserve the right to eject or refuse entry to any person who may jeopardise the health or safety of themselves or others
- All new members are asked to partake in a fitness assessment and gym induction
- Members may not bring their own personal fitness trainers onto the premises
- Members are asked to arrive 5 minutes prior to any appointment, management accept the right to refuse or re-book fitness appointments after more than two cancellations or no-shows
Exercise Classes
- Exercise classes are payable by all members unless otherwise stated or included in the membership.
- Children under 15 years old are not permitted to take part in Exercise Classes
- Members are asked to wear the appropriate clothing and trainers.
- Entrance to classes are at the discretion of the instructor.
- An instructor may at any time, ask any member to leave a class if he/she is of the opinion that the member’s behaviour is jeopardising the class.
Children
- Juniors must be accompanied by an adult (aged over 18 or over) with a maximum 3 children per adult, (based on fulfilment of certain criteria_ the adult must remain with the child or children at all times, as they remain the responsible for the child’s / children’s behaviour and safety
- Juniors under 8 years must be under direct adult supervision in the pool at all times.
- Juniors aged 8-14 must be supervised by an adult on poolside
- Juniors under 15 must NOT enter the spa pool, steam room, sanarium or exercise studio at any time
- Strictly adults only before 8.30am and after 9pm
- Juniors aged 0 – 5 years may change in either sex changing room, under supervision. Juniors aged 5 – 15 years must change in the same sex changing rooms or in the family/disabled changing room.
Indoor Play Area
- All children must be supervised at all by times by an adult aged 18 and over.
- Remove shoes on entering
- You are not permitted to consume or store, or bring into the play area food or drink or any kind of glass
Membership
- Membership can be paid annually or by monthly direct debit
- Cancellation must be done in writing at least 14 days prior to cancellation date
- A membership card will be issued free to each member upon joining which remains the property of Langdale Leisure Ltd
- Each member must present proof of membership on each visit to the Fitness and Leisure facilities before proceeding into the area. Any member attending without a valid card will be asked for proof of identification
- Replacement cards are charged at £5.00
Membership Freezes
- Only applicable to direct debit members.
- A member may put their membership on hold for reasons of serious injury/illness/hospitalisation or long-term vacation, for a period of no less than one calendar month and a maximum of 3 calendar months.
- All freezes must be submitted in writing at least 15 days before the calendar month the freeze is due to start. Freezes are at the absolute discretion of the Langdale
Membership Suspension
- Langdale may suspend access to the facilities in full or part at any time for purposes of repairs, refurbishment or unforeseen circumstances.
- In such circumstances membership fees for lump sum payees would be retained and the duration of the membership extended.
- Direct debit payments would be adjusted accordingly.
Guests
- Members may bring up to 3 guest per visit upon payment of the prevailing guest fee
- All guests must comply with Fitness and Leisure facility rules and regulations.
Lockers
- Members must use the lockers provided and secure all personal belongings
- All personal belongings are left at the member’s own risk
- Lockers are available only for use whilst the member or guest is on the premises
Lost Property
- If a member leaves their belongings in a locker or leaves them on the premises they will be available for collection from the Fitness and Leisure reception for a period of three months. If a member’s belongings are not collected they will be donated to charity.
