Langdale Hotel and Lakes Parish Council rescue Chapel Style loos from closure - September 2011

The Langdale Hotel and Spa has joined forces with Lakes Parish Council to rescue the public toilets at Chapel Style from closure.

The loos were under threat of closure after a lack of funding meant South Lakeland District Council could no longer be responsible for their maintenance.

The loos are frequented by thousands of walkers each year but were due to close in 2011.

The Langdale Hotel and Lakes Parish Council successfully applied to South Lakeland District Council to take on the upkeep of the Chapel Style toilets and will now share responsibility for the facility.
