Langdale Hotel and Lakes Parish Council rescue Chapel Style loos from closure - September 2011

The Langdale Hotel and Spa has joined forces with Lakes Parish Council to rescue the public toilets at Chapel Style from closure.

The loos were under threat of closure after a lack of funding meant South Lakeland District Council could no longer be responsible for their maintenance.

The loos are frequented by thousands of walkers each year but were due to close on xx of xxx this year.

The Langdale Hotel and Lakes Parish Council successfully applied to South Lakeland District Council to take on the upkeep of the Chapel Style toilets and will now share responsibility for the facility.

In addition to its calming candle-lit therapy rooms, Langdale’s spa facilities include a pristine 20m swimming pool, spa pool, steam room, sanarium, tropical shower, deluge shower, exercise studio and fitness suite.

Langdale’s accommodation is equally luxurious with chic, contemporary rooms full of thoughtful touches including Egyptian cotton linens, Fair Trade refreshments, decadent toiletries, fridges and remote control showers and rooms are set amongst scenic mature woodland, streams and tarns.

The Langdale Estate is idyllically located for walking the Lake District fells and the hotel offers mountain bike hire too.

The Langdale New Year Recovery Break costs £178 for two people in a Lakeland Signature Room and is available until the end of March 2012.

The Langdale Hotel is awarded 4 stars by the AA – July 2010

Following a recent inspection by the AA the Langdale Hotel; had been awarded 4 star status. This is just reward following the 2 year refurbishment programme which has seen most of the bedrooms transformed to Lakeland Signature rooms. The Waterside feature rooms have been refurbished in a contemporary style and the Ultimate room collection is unique.

The 4 stars also recognises the excellent levels of service and attention to details by the staff across the estate.
