At Langdale every day is different.  The Estate is home to a hotel & timeshare resort, spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone – a 16 room boutique hotel.  So with 600 guests and 200 members of staff on the Estate there is always something to do.  Langdale is like a home to many people and in fact for about 70 members of staff, who live on site it is their home. Reservationist

 

The Langdale Estate is set in 35 acres of woodland & waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  The Estate comprises a 56 bedroom hotel, 16 bedroom boutique hotel, 100 timeshare units, 2 Restaurants & bars and traditional Lakeland pub.

 

We are looking to recruit an additional reservationist to join the team at Langdale.   As a reservationist you will be taking bookings for hotel rooms, self catering properties, spa and restaurants.  The reservations team covers weekends and evenings so flexibility would be required.  The ideal candidate will be completely customer focused and want to help ensure the costumer journey from first contact through to arrival is as smooth as possible.  The position would suit either an experienced receptionist or reservationist.

 

You will need to provide friendly and efficient reservations service and ensure that customer’s needs are met whilst maximising revenue & up selling wherever possible.  You must provide first class customer service and should be highly organised with good communication skills.  It is also important you are a good team player, as well as able to work on your own initiative when necessary.  Knowledge of hotels, spa, restaurants, self catering would be an advantage.

Assistant Maintenance Manager

 

The Langdale Estate is set in 35 acres of woodland & waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  The Estate comprises a 56 bedroom hotel, 16 bedroom boutique hotel, 100 timeshare units, 2 Restaurants & bars and traditional Lakeland pub.

 

The Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the maintenance team operates efficiently and reliably under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, to enable cover across all our properties.  The Maintenance team care for both commercial and domestic properties, including our 56 bedroom hotel, and 100 self catering properties.

 

This position requires a skills based approach with experience of working within a team, ideally you will have a trade background but will also have demonstrated successful management and leadership skills.  Experience of having implemented refurbishment and/or maintenance programmes is also required.  Implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs is essential. Must have a sound working knowledge of safety regulations and safety requirements for the safe execution of maintenance practices and activities.

 

Key responsibilities are:-

 

• Key interface to all projects and participates as a team member

• Manage a team of 9 maintenance engineers on a daily basis

• Review scope of work of projects

• Prepare preliminary and final cost estimates

• Review status during project design/drafting development

• Some knowledge and experience of engineering disciplines (i.e. Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Instrumentation and Electrical)

• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills

• Proven ability to work in and lead diverse teams, decision making skills, as well as the ability to plan & organize work

• Strong desire to accept additional responsibilities and advanced positions where appropriate.

Restaurant Manager

We are looking for a remarkable ‘people’ person to manage the team in one of our restaurants and bars on the Langdale Estate. Experience of delivering professional and exceptional restaurant service, and someone who is passionate about people, quality, food and drink is a given, but ultimately the ability to direct your team into delivering outstanding service will be one of your main talents.

 

We’re looking for someone with really sound management skills, and someone who understands the difference between Customer Service and Hospitality – we hope you know what they are, because we will ask you!

 

We want somebody who is a leader and will have the rest of the team eager to follow in their footsteps. You will guide, support, train, and develop all team members.

Spa Therapist

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District. We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone, a 16 suite beyond boutique hotel.

 

The Langdale Spa has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Spa Therapist to join the team.

 

Main duties include carrying out range of therapies for clients in an efficient and professional manner, to maximise revenue through careful diary management and proactive selling of spa retail products. You will also ensure the spa is kept clean and well maintained.

 

The successful candidate should ideally possess a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Experience in a similar establishment with Elemis, Anne Semonin, OPI nails, bareMinerals and Shellac products would be an advantage. Good communication and excellent customer service skills are essential. The Spa work closely with the leisure club to ensure high customer satisfaction therefore knowledge of pool operations would be an advantage. Training will be given where required.

Commis Chef

 

We are looking a committed Commis Chef with proven experience in a busy kitchen to join the team at Langdale. Working in one of the Estates 3 kitchens – Purdeys, Terrace or Wainwrights, there is opportunity to learn and develop your skills. The ability to be flexible would be an advantage. Langdale has a strong training record and is keen to help people progress in their career.

 

Qualifications would be an advantage but NVQ training will be offered where appropriate. It’s vital that you have a passion & drive to help create locally sourced, quality food.

Food & Beverage Assistants

 

Food & beverage assistants required to assist in all 3 of our food outlets. We are looking for people who have excellent customer service skills, the ability to work as a team or as an individual and to be flexible to assist in any outlet. The work will include taking orders, serving food, bar work. Experience of working either in a 1 or 2 rosette restaurants or with real ales would be an advantage. On job training will be given and the opportunity to take NVQ’s or other outside training will be available.

Estate Kitchen Porter

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District. We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and we’ve just opened a brand new 16 suite hotel which is beyond boutique – brimstone.

We are looking for a kitchen porter to help with the smooth running of the hotels kitchens.

 

Working as part of small dedicated team you will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times, that high levels of health & safety are achieved and that the kitchen is able to operate at its best. It is important that you can work on your own and as part of team. Great communication skills are essential as is the ability to stay calm under pressure. The ability to be flexible is needed as there are 4 kitchens on site and you may be working in any one of them.

 

We are looking for somebody that is reliable, flexible and dedicated to working in a kitchen environment

Chef de Partie

 

We are looking for a Chef de partie for Purdeys Restaurant, the Langdale Estate’s 2 AA rosette restaurant. Working within an enthusiastic, committed team, you will ideally have experience at two rosette level, and have passion & drive to help create locally sourced, quality food as well as an eagerness to learn & develop your knowledge.

 

This role will suit a strong Demi Chef de Partie with the ability to multi task and also develop their skills or a Chef de Partie wishing to expand their skills. Excellent organisation and communication skills are essential especially when under pressure. The ability to supervise and guide junior members of the brigade would be an advantage. There are two other kitchens on the Estate, so flexibility and adaptability when needed would be useful to ensure that all kitchens operate at their highest potential.

Part time Lodge Cleaner

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District. We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and we’ve just opened a brand new 16 suite hotel which is beyond boutique – brimstone.

 

We are looking for people to help with the cleaning of our 100 timeshare lodges. Change over days are on a Friday, Saturday & Sunday. An eye for detail and a desire to do a good job is required. The ability to work to deadlines is essential as all lodges check in at 4pm.

 

Work is either done individually or in small teams. Previous experience would be useful but full training will be given. Hours of work are 9.30am to 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch. We can offer 1, 2 or 3 day contracts and extra work during the week may be available. These positions are permanent and transport is provided from the Kendal, Windermere & Ambleside areas.
