At Langdale every day is different.  The Estate is home to a hotel & timeshare resort, spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone – a 16 room boutique hotel.  So with 600 guests and 200 members of staff on the Estate there is always something to do.  Langdale is like a home to many people and in fact for about 70 members of staff, who live on site it is their home. We’re building a brand new multi-generational, deliberately different kind of restaurant at Langdale located in one of the most beautiful valleys in the country.  We employed a brilliantly gift interior designer and put our guests at the centre of every decision we made.

 

If you are creative, confident and like things to be just right then this opportunity will suit you.

 

Our menu will be imaginative, food will be beautifully prepared and presented and will be served by people with knowledge and personality.  Stove will be open from 7am until late serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with everything in between – all our guests will be welcome.

 

We are looking for an exceptional someone who can lead this concept from the front as our Director of Food & Beverage.  As such you’ll be responsible for all Food & Beverage being served out of this 250 cover concept to be known as Stove.  It will be a multi-generational, multi-faceted, zoned area capable of delivering Michelin quality standards but with an unstuffy London approach to both food and service delivery.

 

You will report to the Hotel Manager and be fully accountable for all aspects of running this high end operation, mentoring, coaching and developing the whole team, front of house and kitchen.

 

It would be good if candidates had a proven track record of food service operations within a similar setting but we invite applications from passionate, enthusiastic people who believe they understand our business and can deliver exemplary hospitality.

 

You should also have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to present professionally.

 

On a strategic level you will be working alongside but still reporting to the Hotel Manager and other members of the senior management team on both short and long term business plans to ensure quality, growth and development.

Restaurant Manager – Stove

As part of a team of 3 Restaurant managers we are looking for brilliant Restaurant Managers who can lead in conjunction with each other, this concept under the tutelage of your Director of Food & Beverage, also known as Head of Epicurean Delights.   As such you’ll be responsible for the Food & Beverage service delivery in this 250 cover, inside and out, concept to be known as Stove.  It will be a multi-generational, multi-faceted, zoned area capable of delivering Michelin quality standards but with an unstuffy London approach to both food and service delivery.

Estate Kitchen Porter

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and a 16 suite hotel – brimstone.

 

We are looking for a kitchen porter to help with the smooth running of the hotels kitchens.

 

Working as part of small dedicated team you will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times, that high levels of health & safety are achieved and that the kitchen is able to operate at its best.  It is important that you can work on your own and as part of team.  Great communication skills are essential as is the ability to stay calm under pressure.  The ability to be flexible is needed as there are 4 kitchens on site and you may be working in any one of them.

 

We are looking for somebody that is reliable, flexible and dedicated to working in a kitchen environment

Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor

 

The Langdale Estate – 4 star hotel, timeshare resort, spa, 4 bars and restaurants and brimstone a 16 bedroom boutique hotel, a set in 35 acres of woodland in the heart of the Lake District.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a full time supervisor within the hotel housekeeping team at Langdale Hotel and Spa.

 

As well as cleaning rooms, the role involves assisting with ensuring that high standards are been reached in all areas of the hotel & public areas as well as helping with training and day to day running of the department.

 

The ability to communicate and help motive a team is essential as well as been able to cover for the Assistant Housekeeper and Housekeeping Manager in their absence.  Good spoken and written communication essential.  Supervisor experience an advantage, however full training will be given.  The position is ideal for somebody wishing to start on the ladder of hospitality management.

Stores Assistant

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone, a 16 suite beyond boutique hotel.

 

An opportunity has arisen for somebody to join the stores team to assist with the day to day running of the department.

 

We are looking for somebody who is organised, a team player, has good communication skills – both written and verbal and can pro-actively manage their workload.

 

The position involves ensuring that stores is secure, stock is accounted for both when arriving at and leaving stores.  An understanding of stock & stock levels would be useful, as well as some computer skills.  The nature of the work means the role involves an element of manual handling on a daily basis – moving stock around stores and the different departments on site. This role is based on a minimum of 24 hours which will include some weekend working.  A full driving licence would be an advantage.

Spa Therapist

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone, a 16 suite beyond boutique hotel.

The Langdale Spa has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Spa Therapist to join the team.

 

Main duties include carrying out range of therapies for clients in an efficient and professional manner, to maximise revenue through careful diary management and proactive selling of spa retail products.  You will also ensure the spa is kept clean and well maintained.

 

The successful candidate should ideally possess a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Experience in a similar establishment with Elemis, Anne Semonin, OPI nails, bareMinerals and Shellac products would be an advantage.  Good communication and excellent customer service skills are essential.  The Spa work closely with the leisure club to ensure high customer satisfaction therefore knowledge of pool operations would be an advantage.  Training will be given where required.

Commis Chef

 

We are looking a committed Commis Chef with proven experience in a busy kitchen to join the team at Langdale. Working in one of the Estates 3 kitchens – Purdeys, Terrace or Wainwrights, there is opportunity to learn and develop your skills. The ability to be flexible would be an advantage. Langdale has a strong training record and is keen to help people progress in their career.

 

Qualifications would be an advantage but NVQ training will be offered where appropriate. It’s vital that you have a passion & drive to help create locally sourced, quality food.

Chef de Partie

 

We are looking for a Chef de partie for Purdeys Restaurant, the Langdale Estate’s 2 AA rosette restaurant. Working within an enthusiastic, committed team, you will ideally have experience at two rosette level, and have passion & drive to help create locally sourced, quality food as well as an eagerness to learn & develop your knowledge.

 

This role will suit a strong Demi Chef de Partie with the ability to multi task and also develop their skills or a Chef de Partie wishing to expand their skills. Excellent organisation and communication skills are essential especially when under pressure. The ability to supervise and guide junior members of the brigade would be an advantage. There are two other kitchens on the Estate, so flexibility and adaptability when needed would be useful to ensure that all kitchens operate at their highest potential.

Part time Lodge Cleaner

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District. We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and we’ve just opened a brand new 16 suite hotel which is beyond boutique – brimstone.

 

We are looking for people to help with the cleaning of our 100 timeshare lodges. Change over days are on a Friday, Saturday & Sunday. An eye for detail and a desire to do a good job is required. The ability to work to deadlines is essential as all lodges check in at 4pm.

 

Work is either done individually or in small teams. Previous experience would be useful but full training will be given. Hours of work are 9.30am to 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch. We can offer 1, 2 or 3 day contracts and extra work during the week may be available. These positions are permanent and transport is provided from the Kendal, Windermere & Ambleside areas.
