At Langdale every day is different.  The Estate is home to a hotel & timeshare resort, spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone – a 16 room boutique hotel.  So with 600 guests and 200 members of staff on the Estate there is always something to do.  Langdale is like a home to many people and in fact for about 70 members of staff, who live on site it is their home. This creates a passion about the place that is difficult to replicate.   People who work at Langdale believe that is like a family and like any family we want our staff to grow, develop and learn from their time with us.  So whether people stay with us just for the summer or find themselves here for much longer, if they gain friends, knowledge, confidence and a better understanding of themselves, we have done our job.

Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor

 

The Langdale Estate is set in 35 acres of woodland & waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  The Estate comprises a 56 bedroom hotel, 16 bedroom boutique hotel, 100 timeshare units, Spa, Wainwrights Inn and our brand new Restaurant, Stove.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a full time supervisor within the hotel housekeeping team at Langdale Hotel and Spa.

 

As well as cleaning rooms, the role involves assisting with ensuring that high standards are been reached in all areas of the hotel & public areas as well as helping with training and day to day running of the department.

 

The ability to communicate and help motive a team is essential as well as been able to cover for the Assistant Housekeeper and Housekeeping Manager in their absence.  Good spoken and written communication essential.  Supervisor experience an advantage, however full training will be given.  The position is ideal for somebody wishing to start on the ladder of hospitality management.

Grounds person

 

The Langdale Estate is set in 35 acres of woodland & waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  The Estate comprises a 56 bedroom hotel, 16 bedroom boutique hotel, 100 timeshare units, spa, Wainwrights Inn and our brand new Restaurant, Stove.

 

We are looking for somebody to join our Grounds team.  Working as part of the grounds team this role is instrumental in the up keep of all estate external areas.  This includes mowing and maintaining lawns, general tree maintenance and production of logs for hotel fires, the use of equipment including blowers, chain saws, lawn mowers, tractors.  The main focus is ensuring that the grounds of the Estate are well maintained to meet guests expectations.

 

The ideal candidate will be a team player who has experience in a similar setting and also experience of handling garden equipment (Chainsaws/strimmer’s etc).  A driving licence is essential.  Experience of driving tractor would be an advantage.  A genuine interest in grounds maintenance as well a preference for being outdoors all year round is needed.

Front Office Reservationist / Receptionist

 

The Langdale Estate is set in 35 acres of woodland & waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  The Estate comprises a 56 bedroom hotel, 16 bedroom boutique hotel, 100 timeshare units, spa, Wainwrights Inn and our brand new Restaurant, Stove.

 

We are looking for a person to join our Gateway Guest Services team who look after hotel, spa, and timeshare guests from the moment they make a booking; either online, on the phone or in person, to their arrival on site, and then to the point when they leaving us.

 

The right person for this role will be organised and attentive with a keen eye for detail. They will have flair for customer service, and be naturally helpful, approachable and reliable.  Excellent communication skills are required as is the confidence in explanations and upselling with regard to any query the guest may have.

 

This role will involve:

 

- Taking hotel, spa, timeshare and restaurant reservations

- Welcoming and greeting guests to the Estate

- Acting upon all requests that guests might have in an efficient and friendly manner

- Checking guests in and out

 

This role is an integral part of the Gateway Guest Services team and requires a team player who has the initiative to provide support and assistant to guests where needed. The position would suit either an experienced receptionist or reservationist.

Commis Chef, Wainwrights Inn

 

We are looking for a Commis Chef for our busy traditional Lakeland pub. Working as part of a small committed team, we are looking for somebody who preferably has experience in a pub environment and the capacity to work under pressure. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, as is previous kitchen experience.  Training will be given as well as the opportunity to work towards to an NVQ.

 

As Langdale Estate is an independent operator our teams thrive on the ability to work and find solutions in a creative way.  We recognise our responsibility to provide a sustainable destination for visitors, employees and the local community and encourage staff to operate in a way that compliments and enhances this ethos.

Hotel Housekeeper

 

The Langdale Estate – 4 star hotel, timeshare resort, spa, bars and restaurants and brimstone a 16 bedroom boutique hotel, a set in 35 acres of woodland in the heart of the Lake District.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a full time housekeeper within the hotel housekeeping team at Langdale Hotel and Spa.

 

The role of housekeeper is to ensure that guest rooms and public areas are spotless at all times and will include; bed making; bathroom cleanliness; vacuuming; general, high & low dusting and some furniture moving will be required.

 

Previous experience would be preferred but not essential as full training will be given.  We are looking for somebody that has good attention to detail, has immaculate presentation standards and a desire ensure high standards are met.  The ideal candidate will be able to communicate well with guests and colleagues, and have good customer service skills.

Food & Beverage Assistants

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and new 16 suite hotel – brimstone.

 

Food & beverage assistants required to assist in all 3 of our food outlets.  We are looking for people who have excellent customer service skills, the ability to work as a team or as an individual and to be flexible to assist in any outlet.  The work will include taking orders, serving food, bar work.  Experience of working either in a 1 or 2 rosette restaurants or with real ales would be an advantage.    On job training will be given and the opportunity to take NVQ’s or other outside training will be available.

Trainee Spa Therapist

 

Have you ever thought about becoming a Spa Therapist?

 

We are looking for somebody to join the Spa team who wants to learn all about the industry and undergo training to qualify as a spa therapist.

 

Training will be both at a local college and on the job.

 

Good communication and excellent customer services skills required as is a desire to learn about the spa industry.

 

 

 

Spa Therapist

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone, a 16 suite beyond boutique hotel.

The Langdale Spa has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Spa Therapist to join the team.

 

Main duties include carrying out range of therapies for clients in an efficient and professional manner, to maximise revenue through careful diary management and proactive selling of spa retail products.  You will also ensure the spa is kept clean and well maintained.

 

The successful candidate should ideally possess a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Experience in a similar establishment with Elemis, Anne Semonin, OPI nails, bareMinerals and Shellac products would be an advantage.  Good communication and excellent customer service skills are essential.  The Spa work closely with the leisure club to ensure high customer satisfaction therefore knowledge of pool operations would be an advantage.  Training will be given where required.

Part time Lodge Cleaner

 

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District. We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and we’ve just opened a brand new 16 suite hotel which is beyond boutique – brimstone.

 

We are looking for people to help with the cleaning of our 100 timeshare lodges. Change over days are on a Friday, Saturday & Sunday. An eye for detail and a desire to do a good job is required. The ability to work to deadlines is essential as all lodges check in at 4pm.

 

Work is either done individually or in small teams. Previous experience would be useful but full training will be given. Hours of work are 9.30am to 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch. We can offer 1, 2 or 3 day contracts and extra work during the week may be available. These positions are permanent and transport is provided from the Kendal, Windermere & Ambleside areas.
