Lodge Housekeeping Supervisor

The Langdale Estate – 4 star hotel, 100 unit timeshare resort, spa, 4 bars and restaurants and brimstone a 16 bedroom boutique hotel, a set in 35 acres of woodland in the heart of the Lake District.

We are looking for a housekeeping supervisor to join the lodge housekeeping team.  The successful candidate will help with managing the wide range of accommodation on offer, ensuring existing cleaning standards and levels of detail are maintained and enhanced, all the while ensuring the large team of staff are surpassing expectations.

As well as having an exceptional eye for detail, you should have tremendous planning skills; have a proactive hands-on approach to management and be a plate spinner & problem solver.  Excellent communication skills are needed as well as the ability to build rapport with employees and customers alike.

Experience in leading, developing and managing a large team is vital would be useful.  Due to the scale of the operation, successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence.

The role is 39 hours per week including weekends and some late shifts until 7pm, but flexible hours maybe considered.  Previous supervisor experience preferred, but full training will be given. Restaurant Supervisor - Purdey's

The Langdale Estate – 4 star hotel, 100 unit timeshare resort, spa, 4 bars and restaurants and brimstone a 16 bedroom boutique hotel, a set in 35 acres of woodland in the heart of the Lake District..

Purdeys Restaurant on the Langdale Estate is a 2 Rosette restaurant and we are looking for a supervisor to join this small but dedicated team.

Duties will include assisting the restaurant Manager & Assistant Manager to ensure that standards are met within the department and help the department improve and move forward.  Previous supervisor experience not necessarily required but an understanding of rosette dining would be advantageous.

Experience in a rosette restaurant preferred.  Excellent customer service and communication skills required, as well as the ability to work as part of a team or own.  An eye for detail and the ability to exceed customer’s needs is necessary.  Development opportunities are available for the right candidate.

Assistant Spa Manager

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and brimstone, a 16 suite beyond boutique hotel.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Manager for the Spa.  This position is to provide support on a daily basis to the Spa Manager, who is responsible for the day to day operation of the leisure club, pool, gym, health wellness & beauty facilities.  The work is therefore very varied.  This role would possibly suit a beauty therapist / senior therapist looking to step into their first management role.

Essential requirements:-

  • Strong people management skills
  • Beauty therapy qualification or knowledge of beauty therapy
  • Leadership capability – able to lead from the front and delegate effectively
  • Understanding of pool operations
  • Plate spinner and problem solver. Well organised and structured in approach.
  • Experience in a similar role


You must provide first class customer service and should be highly organised with good communication skills.  This position requires an understanding of working in either a leisure club or beauty therapy or both and an understanding of supervising / managing a team.  The ability to build rapport with both staff and customers is need as well as a dynamic, ‘can do’ attitude. 
You will assist with staff planning, training, motivating and all other day to day aspects of the department.

Spa Therapist

The Langdale Spa has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Spa Therapist to join the team.

Main duties include carrying out range of therapies for clients in an efficient and professional manner, to maximise revenue through careful diary management and proactive selling of spa retail products.  You will also ensure the spa is kept clean and well maintained.

The successful candidate should possess a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Experience in a similar establishment with Elemis, Anne Semonin, OPI nails, bareMinerals and Shellac products would be an advantage.  Good communication and excellent customer service skills are essential.

Receptionist

The Langdale Estate is a Hotel and Timeshare complex in the heart of the Lake District.  We require somebody to join our team on a busy reception, which covers the hotel & timeshare.  Experience is preferred but training will be given on all aspects of the role.  You must believe in and be able to provide first class customer service and should be highly organised with good communication skills, both face to face and over the phone.  As with any reception role, the ability to multi task is essential.

It is also important you are a good team player, as well as able to work on your own initiative when necessary. As the first point of contact for guests, your excellent communication skills and polite manner will make an immediate impression.

The role includes all general reception duties including answering switchboard, taking reservations, liaising with all departments, dealing with guest queries etc.  This is a full time, permanent position, 39 hours over 5 days out of 7.  Will include evening and weekend work.

Sales Executive (Maternity Cover)

An opportunity has arisen to become part of a successful sales team on the Langdale Estate by covering maternity leave.  This position combines the unique skills of customer service, sales, administration and team work.  The sales team look to maximise revenue of the hotel sales, lodge sales & rentals, weddings and conferences.  You must provide first class customer service and should be highly organised with good communication skills.  It is also important you are a good team player, as well as able to work on your own initiative when necessary.

Chef de Partie – Wainwrights Inn

The Langdale Estate – 4 star hotel, timeshare resort, spa, 4 bars and restaurants and brimstone a 16 bedroom boutique hotel, a set in 35 acres of woodland in the heart of the Lake District.

We are looking for a Chef de Partie for our busy traditional Lakeland pub. Working as part of a small committed team, we are looking for somebody who preferably has experience in a pub environment and the capacity to work under pressure.  Training will be given as well as the opportunity to work towards to an NVQ. 

This role will suit a strong Demi Chef de Partie with the ability to multi task and also develop their skills or a Chef de Partie wishing to expand their skills.  Excellent organisation and communication skills are essential especially when under pressure.  The ability to supervise and guide junior members of the brigade would be an advantage.  There are two other kitchens on the Estate, so flexibility and adaptability when needed would be useful to ensure that all kitchens operate at their highest potential.

Chef de Partie – Terrace Restaurant

The Langdale Estate – 4 star hotel, timeshare resort, spa and 4 bars and restaurants set in 35 acres of woodland in the heart of the Lake District.

We are looking for a Chef de partie for the Terrace Restaurant.  With a variety of menus including daytime snacks, evening dinner and a take-away menu, The Terrace offers something to entice any member of the family at any time of the day.  In the Terrace Restaurant many dishes are cooked in the Josper Oven giving them a unique flavour and quality. The only oven of its kind in the Lake District dishes are cooked in a charcoal fired oven imported from Spain, which ensures all the juices of the meat or fish are sealed in giving a unique flavour. Charcoal used is from local woodlands proving a sustainable renewable energy.

Estate Kitchen Porter

The Langdale Estate – 4 star hotel, timeshare resort, spa, 4 bars and restaurants and brimstone a 16 bedroom boutique hotel, a set in 35 acres of woodland in the heart of the Lake District.
We are looking for a kitchen porter to help with the smooth running of the hotels kitchens. 

Working as part of small dedicated team you will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times, that high levels of health & safety are achieved and that the kitchen is able to operate at its best.  It is important that you can work on your own and as part of team.  Great communication skills are essential as is the ability to stay calm under pressure.  The ability to be flexible is needed as there are 4 kitchens on site and you may be working in any one of them.

We are looking for somebody that is reliable, flexible and dedicated to working in a kitchen environment

Part time Lodge Cleaner

Langdale is set in 35 acres of woodland and waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  We are a timeshare and hotel resort, with spa, 4 food and beverage outlets and we’ve just opened a brand new 16 suite hotel which is beyond boutique – brimstone.

We are looking for people to help with the cleaning of our 100 timeshare lodges.  Change over days are on a Friday, Saturday & Sunday.  An eye for detail and a desire to do a good job is required.  The ability to work to deadlines is essential as all lodges check in at 4pm. 

Work is either done individually or in small teams. Previous experience would be useful but full training will be given.  Hours of work are 9.30am to 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch.  We can offer 1, 2 or 3 day contracts and extra work during the week may be available.  These positions are permanent and transport is provided from the Kendal, Windermere & Ambleside areas.
